About the Committee A committee of Faculty members and student volunteers is constituted at the beginning of every academic year.

Objectives

  • To strengthen the admission process.
  • To guide and counsel the students to take admission in the college.
  • By giving advertisement, distributing pamphlets, counseling, and student internship programs and organizing extension activities.

Functions

  • Committee assists to the management in getting maximum admission in various programs.
  • To prepare list of admitted students and submit to the Principal.
  • Check original documents of the students and maintain personal files in a proper way.
  • Category wise sort out General, OBC, SC/ST and minority students. Special weightage will be given to physically handicapped students.
  • To solve queries of parents and students who are interested in taking admission in the respective programs.

Counseling Cell

Counseling is a service rendered by the counselor to the counselee, where counselor provides alternative ideas to help one to reduce stress developed in any sphere of life. The cell is headed by a qualified in service teacher who is also proficient in counseling (MA counseling). Class teachers will mark and refer students for counseling. There after counseling session is conducted, if required cases may refer to a qualified psychologist and psychiatrists.

Objective of the Cell

  • Counseling in the college is very important to maintain the mental health of the students and enable them to accomplish their goals.

  • Teaching – learning is an activity which may create stress among the stake holders. There are also other psycho-social-economic reasons due to which a student may get disturbed. At college “SAMADHANA” the counseling cell will help such students to bring down stress level

  • The Institution promotes cultural and literacy activities among students.
  • Fascinated students with talent are encouraged to participate in cultural activities at various levels.
  • Various competitions like Debate, Essay competition, Business bazaar (Entrepreneurial fest), Quiz etc are conducted through this committee.

Functions

  • Plans for the activities within the given budget and gets the permission of the Principal before the activities actually commences.
  • Organizes programs for the benefit of the students and conducts competitions annually.
  • The winners at the institution level will be considered for the participation at inter-college/University level.
  • The committee recommends attendance to the participants representing the college.

Outcomes

  • Students understand the importance of cultural and literary Events and competitions at college/Inter-college/University/State/National level.

Examination Committee

The main objective of the exam committee is to handle internal assessment and external assessment examination of University conducted in the college and to ensure for the smooth conduction of examinations according to the rules and norms of the University and the college.

Functions

  • The committee shall conduct stipulated Tests/ Exams as per calendar of events and shall collect the tabulated results to the Head of the institution.
  • Framing the Exam Time Table, allotment of duties and collection of question papers, scheme of valuation and answer scripts after the exams shall be meticulously done by the committee.
  • The valuated answer scripts of all the semesters shall be packed and preserved for a minimum of three years.
  • The committee shall maintain a register to record all the movements of answer scripts, data sheet and shall also get it duly acknowledge by the principal at the end of each semester.
  • The examination committee deals with all the matters in relation to examinations and hears the complaints received pertaining to any matter arising out of the conduct of examinations (both internal and external) and decides the course of action.
  • Preparation of invigilation duty list for each semester exams.
  • The committee shall collect the result sheet from the college office and analyze the results, tabulate the same.

Outcome

  • Students get motivated to perform well in both internal and external examinations.

Placement and Training Cell

  • Our College Placement and Training cell plays a crucial role in locating job opportunities for Under Graduates passing out from the college by keeping in touch with reputed firms and organizations.

Timetable committee

Time table committee establishes the routine of the teachers and students to help in achieving the academic goal.

  • Timetable once prepared according to subject allotted should be communicated to staff and students.

  • Time table committee help in fixing the rhythm of the academic activities in the college. It help in proper utilization of limited time to achieve maximum output.

Attendance Committee

  • To  Keep track of students attendance
  • To Supervise the attendance of students so that they maintain minimum 75%  mandatory for university exam

Function

  • Attendance is taken for every session
  • Attendance percentage is calculated monthly
  • If there is frequent absenteeism or below minimum Percentage , mentors should inform the parents of the students.
  • Display the attendance list for the information of the students.

Career Guidance Committee

  • To provide information on higher education.
  • To highlight the importance of different Post Graduate Programs. 
  • The help students understand the process of applying for post graduate programs.

Functions

  • SCCMC Career Guidance Committee conducts career guidance programs for commerce and management students.
  • The committee hosts the programs as per the direction from the head of the institution and programs are based on the inputs from the IQAC.
  • The Committee introduces educationist, PG colleges heads and training institute members to students to guide students to select either PG courses or Job oriented courses and exams.
  • The Committee acknowledges and ensures participation of all members and different stakeholders.

Laboratory Committee

  • To strengthen the practical skills in students.
  • To crate ability to integrate theory in to real time processes using equipments and application.

  • The institution has installed three laboratories, Computer Lab, Business Lab and Language Lab.
  • All the laboratories are equipped with required materials, software, hardware and documents related to their fields. 
  • Students log books are maintained and regularly verified by the head of the institution.  
  • Laboratory classes are assigned in the Time table to ensure that they are conducted regularly.

Outcomes

  • Students converted their theoretical into practicals.
  • Students learnt domain related different applications and related software operations in the computer lab.
  • The students earned job based certification courses which in turn improved their employability.

Library

  • To train college students in the use of the library material and to encourage them to enrich their knowledge and outlook in a wider perspective through general and wider readings
  • To prepare the students for different professions and occupations and to develop their skills it procures self – learning materials, competitive exam book etc are provided by the library

Discipline committee

Objectives

  • To ensure calm and peaceful academic atmosphere in the campus.
  • To avoid physical confrontation among students.
  • To conduct enquiries on report of in disciplinary activities among students

  • To initiate steps to reduce violence, confrontation in future

Functions

  • To maintain and enforce strict discipline within the college campus.
  • All the students should wear their ID Cards while they are in the campus and their respective class rooms.
  • In case of any violation of dress code or disturbance in the class, the ID card will be confiscated from the student which will be handed over to the student on the same day with a warning and advice from the Disciplinary Committee Members.
  • In case of any misbehavior or violation of the college rules, the ID cards of the students will be kept with the Disciplinary Committee Members till the enquiry is over.

Sports committee

  • The Sports Committee is to promote every individuals health, physical well-being as well as the acquisition of physical skills among the students. 
  • The committee aspires to inculcate qualities such as sportsmanship, team spirit and bonding.
  • It is designed to serve the interests of the student community in competitive sports and other recreational activities i.e. both indoor and outdoor.

Functions

  • The Committee aims at enhancing the interest of the participants in the field of sports.
  • To achieve the above we plan to organize various competitions in the following sports: Football, Cricket, Basketball, Volleyball, Table tennis, Chess, Badminton.
  • Keeping stock of previous and current years' sports goods.
  • Place order for sports goods on basis of quotations procured.
  • Arranging the venues for sports events.
  • Drawing plans for various sports.

Outcomes

  • The committee shall promote sports activities by motivating students and members of faculty.
  • Promoting team spirit by making healthy competition to organize regular sports events in order to train students for state and national level competitions. 
  • To arrange for better coaching facilities.

Student Grievance Redressal Cell

The grievance and Redressal cell promotes and maintains a Healthy Environment to its Stakeholders. It accepts grievances and complaints registered by anyone with regard to the activities of the Institution particularly those made by students and the cell ensures effective solution to the grievances. The cell enables the students to express their grievances. Grievance procedure is followed with the rules and regulations of the college.

Objectives

  • To resolve grievances of the students and its stakeholders.
  • To ensure effective solution to the stakeholders’ grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

Functions

  • Informs students of the process of registering of grievances in the Induction Programs.
  • Acknowledge and analyzes the grievances.
  • Seeks a solution through decision making process.
  • Reports the grievance and records how they were redressed.

Procedures

  • The grievances shall be redressed depending on the nature of the grievance. The grievances are invited through suggestion boxes or in person.
  • Department level counseling is offered where the matter can be resolved.
  • Grievance related to academic and internal evaluation shall be redresses at individual or faculty or HOD or Principal level.
  • For other grievances that require review shall be redressed be receiving written and signed application.
  • As soon as the application is received the Redressal Committee will review the complaint and invites both the parties for discussion. The outcome of the discussion is reported to the principal for further action to be taken.
  • The grievances will be redresses at the earliest by issuing warning letter or memo or reformation remedies.
  • All the grievances concerning to women harassment and ragging shall be dealt by the respective committees as per the prescribed procedure.

Student Welfare Committee

Students Welfare Committee has been formed with the objective to act as an interface between the Management and Students. The Committee Chairman and Members makes decisions concerning Student Welfare, taking up issues reported by students and resolve them by bringing it to the notice of the concerned Teacher, HOD, Principal or the Management.

Human Rights Protection Cell

Human rights have implicit importance as they are considered indispensable for the survival of human beings. The Centre for Human Rights Protection Cell aims to provide a “forum where students are able to further their knowledge of modern correctional issues and to bring their classroom learning to life”.

Red Cross

The Red Cross Unit is active in the college and experienced staff members lead the team. The unit joins hands with NSS to coordinate and support social service activities like Blood Donation Camps, Go Green Campaign, Awareness Activities and Covid Testing and Vaccination Drives.

Alumni Committee

The Silicon city college of Management and Commerce Alumni association named SAGA (Silicon Alumni Group Association). Alumni associations work to maintain bridges between alumni and institutions. Alumni Association conducts regular meetings to interact with each other to discuss development of the Institution and also their role and contribution.

Women Empowerment Cell

The Women Empowerment Cell is established to empower female students and faculty to enhance their understanding of issues related to women and to make the campus a safe place for them to study, work and achieve their goals. The Cell takes up women’s issues and problems and aims to create awareness about their rights and duties through guest lectures, seminars, awareness programmes and different welfare activities. It’s a platform for them to share their experiences and views regarding their status in the society. The cell also trains women to acquire wide range of skills and knowledge to develop their social, economic and intellectual capacities.

Silicon City College of Management and Commerce has a staff welfare committee for a better progress of the Institutional community. It promotes a positive environment and builds confidence among the staff. Staff welfare committee will functions as a bridge between management and staff focusing on the interests of the staff without disturbing the policies of the management.
