Anti- Sexual Harassment Prevention Cell

Silicon City College of management and commerce has formed Anti Sexual Harassment Committee as per the guidelines of UGC and Supreme Court. This cell will deal with issues which is related to sexual harassment.

Objective of the Cell

  • To create safe and secure environment and healthy atmosphere for girl students and female staff members in the college campus.
  • To prevent discrimination based on gender
  • To provide an environment free of gender- based discrimination
  • To make sure that complaints will be kept confidential.
  • To ensure that timely action will be taken against anti sexual harassment.
  • To frame policies and guidelines against anti sexual harassment.
  • To create awareness about anti sexual harassment

Functions of Cell:

  • To provide a healthy, safe and secure educational environment which is free from sexual harassment.
  • To receive complaints in any form and take proper decision and timely actions by the committee convener.
  • To enquire and investigate and suggest appropriate punishment by the committee head.
  • The committee convener as well as member of the committee should convert oral complaints into written form.
  • After the submission of written complaint within 5 Days the co-coordinator will call the complainant for a personal meeting.
  • If the case falls outside the purview of the Cell, the complaint will be informed to the Principal.
  • To organize awareness program to the students against sexual harassment.
  • To prevent any gender discrimination and violence and promote gender equality.
  • Receive and redress complaints received from any member of the college alleging Sexual harassment.

Anti ragging cell

Objective of the Cell

  • To uphold and comply with the directions of the Humble Supreme Court and be vigilant on nay acts amounting to ragging.
  • To publicize to all students and prevalent directives and the actions that can be taken against those indulging in ragging.
  • To consider the complaints received from the students and conduct enquiry and submit report to the Anti- Ragging Committee along with punishment recommended for the offenders.

Functions

  • To ensure compliance with the provision of UGC regulation 2009 at the institute level.
  • To monitor and oversee the performance of anti ragging squad in prevention of ragging in the institution.
  • To make surprise raids on hostels and other places vulnerable to incidents of and having the potential of ragging.
  • To conduct on the spot enquiry in to any incident of ragging

Student Grievance Redressal Cell

The grievance and Redressal cell promotes and maintains a Healthy Environment to its Stakeholders. It accepts grievances and complaints registered by anyone with regard to the activities of the Institution particularly those made by students and the cell ensures effective solution to the grievances. The cell enables the students to express their grievances. Grievance procedure is followed with the rules and regulations of the college.

Objective of the Cell

  • To resolve grievances of the students and its stakeholders.
  • To ensure effective solution to the stakeholders’ grievances with an impartial and fair approach.

Functions

  • Informs students of the process of registering of grievances in the Induction Programs.
  • Acknowledge and analyzes the grievances.
  • Seeks a solution through decision making process.
  • Reports the grievance and records how they were redressed.

Procedures

  • The grievances shall be redressed depending on the nature of the grievance. The grievances are invited through suggestion boxes or in person.
  • Department level counseling is offered where the matter can be resolved.
  • Grievance related to academic and internal evaluation shall be redresses at individual or faculty or HOD or Principal level.
  • For other grievances that require review shall be redressed be receiving written and signed application.
  • As soon as the application is received the Redressal Committee will review the complaint and invites both the parties for discussion. The outcome of the discussion is reported to the principal for further action to be taken.
  • The grievances will be redresses at the earliest by issuing warning letter or memo or reformation remedies.
  • All the grievances concerning to women harassment and ragging shall be dealt by the respective committees as per the prescribed procedure.
